REPORT

Things are looking better. Concede an equaliser and don't buckle. Go 2-1 down and don't buckle. Go down to 10 men and don't buckle. There has certainly been more belief put into the team recently and it's working.

On a really crappy, wet, windy day this wasn't going to be a pretty game no matter the level of the two teams, but Slough tried to play and looked the better side and got an early reward in the 6th minute when a corner was met with the head of the unmarked Dean Harper. Slough were looking comfortable, but the conditions weren't helping and some naughty tackles were flying in. As luck goes, Winchester equalised from a free kick that took a wicked deflection and deceived debutante Simon Dean.

One of Slough's ugly heads reared it's head early in the second half when we conceded a second with a rare bit of sloppy defending (i think!), but to their credit, the home side played on as was and soon after equalised i believe for the first time this season when Harper again pounce on a half chance. The silly sod then gets himself sent off with a bit of a naughty tackle in the poor conditions. Thankfully the referee was consistent and did the same to a Winchester player in injury time. But during the time Slough were down to ten, it never showed.

Team:
1. Simon Dean, 2. Mark Janes, 3. Lee Rendell, 4. Brian Conor, 5. Dean Harper, 6. Steve Daly, 7. Meddie Nsubuga, 8. Lee Riddell, 9. Jermaine Gumbs, 10. Lee Charles, 11. Abby Nsubuga
Subs: 12. Chris Robinson, 14. Tom Attrell, 15. Tom Windsor, 16. Chima Eberendu, 17. Rico Grimm

Man Of The Match:
Has to be Lee Charles again. So much hard work in a side where you couldn't fault anybody.
Hon. Mentions: I'm taking the easy way out here! Can't really decide, so the rest of the team get this, as for the first time this season when going a goal down they fight on and deserved more than the point they finished with.

REPORT

I'll be honest, if it weren't for our mate Martin coming down from Cheltenham, I wouldn't have come today. The problems over the years STFC had had has got to me where I admit I've had enough and quite happy to miss a lot of games. With what happened during the pervious week with Darron Wilkinson I wasn't filed with too much optimism.

How wrong I was.

It seems to me Slough play fine until they go a goal down and this was the case, it was an even game, but one thing that was different was the Slough were prepared to have shots on goal even when it was silly to do so and getting play out wide. This ws encouraging and with a corner that wasn't cleared properly, Dean Harper was on hand to fire home. This inspired the team more and defensively we actually looked solid and for once going into half time in the lead and not conceding.

Another of Slough's problems is the early conceding of a second half goal which duly arrived out of the blue (ok, I wasn't paying attention), but, hurrah, this had no effect of the team. They carried on as before, game Abingdon to time. Lee Charles got free and put in a low cross which was cleared back to him and another cross found Jermaine Gumbs and it was 2-1 and Slough were now well on top. A Lee Rendell free kick on the left found the head of Abby Nsubuga for three one and every fan ws shocked to see how this game was going. Tom Windsor's awkward half chance from another cross made it 4-1 in injury time. It was also good to have subs that can do the job. George Moleski came on for the injured Dave Barrett and did his job well. Then Chima Eberendu came on for the unfortunate George and he looked useful and then there was Tom Windsor's goal.

It's bad enough to pick man of the mach/ hon mentions when the team played badly... it's worse when the whole team plays well. But... and I mean 'but'... as I write this, we're away to Hillingdon tonight. The team Of Richard Barnard and Mark Betts has put some belief in the team. It needs to carry on tonight.

Team:
1. Richard Barnard, 2. Mark Janes, 3. Lee Rendell, 4. Dave Barratt, 5. Dean Harper, 6. Steve Daly, 7. Meddie Nsubuga, 8. Lee Riddell (c), 9. Lee Charles, 10. Jermaine Gumbs, 11. Abby Nsubugua
Subs: 12. George Moleski, 14. Chima Eberendu, 15. Tom Attrell, 16. Tom Windsor, 17. John Ellis

MOM: Lee Charles. Worked His nuts off even in midfield towards the end. Just wonder if it was because he had actually had someone to play along side?
Hon. Mentions: Jermaine Gumbs. A bloody nuisance throughout, but tired towards the end. Lee Rendell. As mentioned on the forum... was Alex 'The Mullet' Haddow really back?? Defensively solid and pushed forward well and trying to get crosses in.

I take photo's for Mats' website. It's difficult to take pictures of the players when they can't hold on to the ball. I and the crew I stand with were so bored in the second half that we forgot to decide on man of the match. I could text, but I can't be bothered.
It's a shame really as up till Bridgewater scored Slough were playing quite well. Again I saw another team who weren't all that and we've succumbed to them.
That's it.

REPORT

On a crisp evening on a big wide pitch we were treated to 119 minutes of good cup football. The 120th minute I wont talk about.

Hillingdon took hold of the game straight away using the width and getting early corners, but as of recent times, Slough Town have a new resolve and quickly turned the tide around and they played quite simply the best football as a team for ages and this resulted In Terry Davies scoring. Stanley Mugisha had his best half so far, Tom Attrell was giving that No.2 some niggles, a subtle payback for last Saturday. Metcalfe in the middle seemed to enjoy himself and where Darron Wilko and Steve Daly got their pace from the scientists need to know! Slough constantly had the pressure, but at half time they were unlucky not to add to the 1-0 lead.
The start to the 2nd half was crucial and Slough were asleep leaving too much space for the equaliser. Throughout the 2nd half Hillingdon dished out the pressure and if it weren't for their wayward shooting Slough could have had problems. Leon Woodruffe having a good game looked to sustain a bad injury and the returning John Mills came on. Slough, in patches, had their chances. Metcalfe, Davies, the quieter Mugisha and Lee Charles all had good chances from the rare 2nd half good play. The last few minutes seemed to me that both sides were happy with extra time.
Hillingdon had the ball in the net in the 1st period, but to be ruled out for offside. In my opinion, I couldn't see Slough scoring from here, Boro' had their moments, but penalties looked certain....until the 119th minute.

Man Of the Match: The Gaffer. Strength, a bit of pace (honest!) and leadership. Not quite sure what happened with their winner, but I'm glad he's playing.
Hon Mentions: Steve Daly's best game for a while and the solid Matt Murphy.

Scrappy one this where a draw was a fair result. There was no real flow to the game where defences ruled. In the first half Slough scrapped at chances that were cleared, Lee Charles coming close and Richard Barnard in goal on top form with good saves but had no chance with a Boro' shot that cannoned off the bar. It took a dubious penalty (was it a bit of a dive there Mr. Davies!!!) for Slough to take the lead. A sort of an apology here, this is going to be a bit of a short report due to the fact I can't remember too much as it was a little uninspiring (and i refuse to carry around a pen and paper. Me lazy!). Like I said, defences tended to break play up. At this point though the rugby result distracted me somewhat!

The second half was generally the same. Hillingdon equalised with a well taken 20 yard curler and soon after Tom Attrell was bundled in to the perimeter wall. I didn't actually see too much, but if you read the forum you'll get a difference of opinion on the intent. Christian Metcalfe was fuming and Richard Barnard came running from his goal (can't deny the team spirit!), Mets was lucky to stay on the pitch with his throttling of a player, but Tom was ok and came back on. This is where i stop as 1) That's all I can remember, 2) It's Sunday night and I'm tired, 3) I'm distracted by Argentina beating Scotland in the rugby, 4) Match Of The Day 2 on soon and finally 5) Writing these 5 things makes this report look longer.

Man Of The Match: For several excellent saves and keeping the side in it, it has to go to Richard Barnard.
Hon. Mentions: Dean Harper probably had his best game in the amber shirt. He made to bad mistakes, but quickly made the recovery tackle. As always, Lee Charles constantly runs putting pressure on the opponents defence. Wish he'd shoot as often as Davies!

If there is a game that had to be won, this was it. Slough had to and did start brightly with a cross to Lee Charles with his back to goal received the ball, turned, side stepped and coolly finished. Soon after a Danny Jefferies low cross was prodded home by Terry Davies. The start we wanted and to be fair to Bracknell and their position in the table hung in there and with 16 year old Alex Tuttle in goal for the home side we fans could be forgiven for being a bit nervous, but throughout this game Alex showed an old head on a young body and with the gaffer in the heart of defence Slough held firm with Wilko and Leon Woodruffe and John Ellis impressing. Slough were going about their business, but Bracknell you could argue had the possession.
The most important thing was how Slough reacted to the start of the second half. It wasn't good. I was still in the tea bar queue and missed Bracknell getting back into the game. Though much of the start of the second half was in Slough's end of the pitch Bracknell thankfully weren't too threatening and our defence dealing with anything that could be warranted to be dangerous. A serious injury to a Bracknell player disrupted the play for a while and Slough really needed to score again to kill off the game. Thankfully it came when Davies poked a cross over from the left and a poor hearer had the ball dropping to the feet of Jefferies and he fired home. This drained the visitors and Slough were able to comfortably see out the game. You could argue about the quality of the performance tonight, but quite often so far this season there has been no grit in the side. Tonight there was.

REPORT

Your not going to get much more than what you'll read on the forum, though I will repeat the word 'gutted'. Mats, if you don't know what that word means, then think of the Halmstad game we saw back in June when Hammarby equalised very late in the game. Yes, that feeling.

The game for much of the first half was rather boring, well I though it was. Gosport were another side that didn't impress me and surprised to see them so high in the table. A bit of pressure and a couple of Boro' chances where Richard Bernard pulled off good saves seemed to wake Slough up and good work from Tom Attrell and Terry Davies where he should have got a shot on target and Slough were on top. But this is where the bad luck and bad refereeing came to the fore.
I didn't see but it seemed in general agreement around the ground that a pass through our defence had a Gosport player offside, but was allowed to play on and score and this just happened just before the break.

In the last couple of games the attitude of the team has been better when doing a goal down and straight from the kick off when many fans were still in the bar, Terry Davies collected the ball, cut inside to slot home. Slough were on top for much of the half though Bernard was solid to anything shot at him or aimed in the air, but the referee and his assistant didn't seem to like us. The ref didn't give us much seeing much one way and there were many dubious offisides and innocuous fouls which frustrated both the players and fans. What Slough did manage to create that the officials didn't blow up for, lacked that clinical finish or pass, but nonetheless, we were the better side. At the time of writing I don't know what the two bookings for Danny Jefferies were for, second I think for use of the gob, but the team spirit was there and we still looked comfortable... but one moment of distraction and right at the end of the game Gosport broke and Bernard was beaten at his near post.

I feel and in agreement again with most of the comments on the forum, with what I've seen so far this season Slough Town will be fine. No team really has impressed me other that our two last performances. If we can get a settled side we'll climb.

Team:

1. Richard Bernard
2. Dean Harper
3. Darron Wilkinson
4. Adrian Browne
5. Leon Woodruffe
6. Danny Jefferies
7. Christian Metcalfe
8. Nick Roddis
9. Tom Attrell
10.Terry Davies
11.Matt Miller

Man Of The Match: Though I wont disagree with opinions on the forum, I felt Richard Bernard was my MOM. Some could argue about the way Gosport got their winner but Richard made some good saves and was solid in the air
Hon. Mentions: Danny Jefferies for sure though' it seems he was a bit of a silly boy for being sent off and though no one had a bad game I'd say Tom Attrell for my second HM. After a nervous first 20 minutes he wide well and got some good crosses in. He did tire towards the end and maybe didn't get enough service in the second half, but he battled on Oh, and his daddy is a legend!

REPORT

When would anybody hear Slough fans shout 'ole' to a period of passing and actually mean it?

This was probably the strongest team on paper and it showed. There hasn't been a side that has impressed me yet and Andover were no different (and Fleet are top!) and for the first time we competed from the start. We didn't create anything clear cut but we made the visitors work. I was pleased to see Danny Jefferies back, the gaffer to who showed everyone how it's done, Woody having a blinder with his defensive cohorts being solid and the front two working well together.
As the first half went on Slough started to look more dangerous and forcing corners it best thing that could happen to the side was to go 1-0 up and ironically with the little luck we do get it was a lot of luck that got the goal. Leon Woodruffe's hard work got himself free on the left and put in a low cross that confused everybody and the ball finding the net just inside the post. Slough were well on top... then the luck went the other way. A controversial free kick was given for Andover outside our box and it was well taken, straight in for 1-1. Slough didn't buckle and were always slightly on top.
The second half was a different story. I haven't seen Slough play so well for a very long time. Staines away last season maybe, but the passing, movement and more importantly the confidence was first class and Andover didn't know what to do. Lee Charles was unlucky with a chance, Terry Davies should have gone round the keeper rather than lobbing when set free and generally putting the visitors under constant pressure. I actually can't remember Aaron France having anything much to do. Other chances that resulted in corners. Steve Daly getting his head on a couple and a cracking Woody cross that the Andover keeper couldn't hold Davies' header and 2-1 was the score Slough more than deserved. 2-1 I felt flattered Andover, it could have been 5-1. All substituted played getting a good ovation as well as the whole team at the end.

But lets not get carried away. Today the team built a platform, a platform they can climb. Firstly they must stay on it, but it's a start the team can take on and progress. It's a shame there isn't a game for 2 weeks.

Team:

1. Aaron France
2. Dean Harper
3. Steve Daly
4. Adrian Browne
5. Leon Woodruffe
6. Danny Jefferies
7. Darron Wilkinson
8. George Moleski
9. Micheal Murphy
10.Terry Davies
11.Lee Charles

Subs:

12.Christian Metcalfe
13.Matt Miller
14.Clem James

Man Of The Match: Whether  he has something to prove to himself or to everyone doesn't really matter. Leon Woodruffe was solid in defence, problematic going forward and the crossing was spot on...except that one that went in! Class act today.

Hon. Mentions:
It could be anybody else. But the two that stood out were Lee Charles who it's great to see a striker work his ground and cause the defence to panic without actually making a challenge and hold up the ball. Secondly I have to pick Darron Wilkinson. If only he was 10 years younger. He had the solidity that the rest of the team worked round.

Manager in goal, one of your better players missing and many a rumour flying about. The world that is Slough Town just gets worse. This is one of those reports that will be short, no match to talk about as there isn't much to say other than the same old-same old and personal comments that probably won't be much different to what you read on the forum whether you agree with what I churn out or the many a thread online.
(I really am struggling to find something to say...)
On paper we have a side that should be doing ok. There have been no team I have seen that is not much better including today. I have missed 2 games but been informed of the same quality from fellow reporters. It doesn't help with Wilko's managerial inexperience with his selections and substitutions, but that isn't a dig, I just hope he learns from it. The only good thing about the game lasted about 5 seconds and resulted in a goal. Good work from Lee Charles, a cross and a header from Deaner. I feel for Matty Miller, not much taller than the short arse I am and all he ever has is high balls to deal with. I also feel for Steve Daly, he is a STFC legend in my honest opinion. He could have gone years ago but stuck with us
but he is shot, gone, should be put to stud, but he is trying and he doesn't have to be there, but some comments by fans are unfair. Which brings me to the end of the game. I see things were mentioned on the forum after, and believe me guys, I'm with you on the anger and frustration, but some comments were naughty, but what got me was the same fans applauded the team off at the end. Assume being sarcastic.

And please read those lines carefully, I don't want a 10 logged thread saying I've got rose tinted glasses.

Team:

1. Darron Wilkinson; 2. Dean Harper 3. Steve Daly 4. Adrian Browne 5. Leon Woodruffe; 6. Lee Charles 7. Christian Metcalfe 8. George Moleski 9. Lukas Bizon; 10. Matt Miller 11. Andy Deaner

Man Of The Match: No one.

REPORT

Now, I stuck up for the team in the Marlow report, saying supporters were way
off the Mark. Today? No way, supporters were right. Un-inventive, negative poop!

Ok, to be fair, for a period in the first half, we seemed to match them and gave
them a bit of a game, and we were a bit unfortunate to go in at half time one
down from a fantastic poulton strike, The Keeper had no hope. The second half
was one of the worst performances I have seen for a long long time.

I normally defend Metcalf, but he was not in the game. I had hoped a metz george
partnership would work, but it doesn't, we were better in midfield last season,
with Jeffires doing the passing, and George doing the grafting...come back quick
Danny!
Browne and mills were the two centre backs and without a natural leader at the
back, panic set in and we looked at times, what we are, a team that cannot
defend. Harper is not good enough, I would rather see Rav at right back. Woody,
had a far better game than he did at marlow, and his crossing is still toilet,
he was at least trying at the back, and linked up well with Terry down the left.
Miller and Charles worked tirelessly, but hardly got any decent passes, and
again, Davies was our only real threat, and he deserved his goal.

Again the substitutions were off. Took bartley, who was playing ok, to bring on
Faircluff, and dropped charles into the midfield, and that was the end of
anything down our right flank!
Deaner came on again, and this was not a game to bring him on, at least it
wasnt' Roddis!

They dominated the rest of the game and it was depressing stuff.
Great clubhouse, nice ground, and fantastic pitch though!

MOM  Leon Woodruff:   Only defender who seemed to know what defending was, and
never gave up up with his runs. (Practise crosses though!!)

Hon men: George Moleski: Had no help whatsoever in the middle, fantstic work
ethic and battled hard.
Terry Davies:   Although everyone thinks i don't like
him!!............Worked hard again, and well worth his goal.

REPORT

It all could have been so different?!

We reverted to four four two, and even without Iain Duncan, we looked much
better for it, especially with Mills back in the back Line.

CJ and Woody were backing each other up well, and George looking much happier in
the middle.

Early in the game, Harper goes down with a marlow player after a strong tackle,
the Marlow player, clearly not happy, is clearly seen to punch the prone Slough
player, TWICE, but the only three people on the planet not to see it are the 2
Lino's and the ref. Marlow should be down to ten men. Not Long after that, Terry
Davies was brought down , for what was, in my opinion, the clearest penalty I
had seen for years. The ref waved play on. Terry was very upset, but didn't, for
once, go mad, and not long after, still clearly annoyed , crashed a thunderous
shot against the bar.
So, half way into the first half, we should be one up, against ten men.
The rest of the half, we did what we did last season, did ok, had possesion, but
did nothing with it. Clement James, whipped in a few crosses, and woody managed
the odd one(but he needs practice!!), but no-one ever got on the end of them, or
the pass wouldn't come. I like Terry, but sometimes he needs to look up and pass
the ball, then maybe he wouldn't be our only goal threat?!

The second half started in the same vain, and we were on top, barring a few
breakaways, but we seemed to be holding our own, and then came the injuries.
Mills, playing well, looked not quite fit, and seemd knackered, and swapping
him for Adrian Browne made sense, and Browne did ok.
Not long after, the impressive James got injured, and had to be replaced. Alot
of us thought, Terry out wide, Faircluth up front, but we got Roddis instead,
with George going out on the left. It was almost all Marlow from then on. We
missed George's vigour in the middle, the poor Metcalf and the even more
dissapointing Roddis were not in the game.Marlow had three or four gilt edge
chances and should have killed us off well before they inviteably did.
We cleared our lines, and the ball went to Roddis, who looked up, and there was
Davies, marked by Marlows, Slowest centre back, but then a clear run at goal.
Roddis could have put the ball anywhere, Davies would have got there first. With
pinpoint accuracy, Roddis passed straight to the centre back, who, passed it
back up our end, and ....yep....after a spill from the keeper...they scored.
Great.
After a rare attack from us, Miller is behind a defender, who does a massive
miskick, and the ball loops up back over his head to leave Miller in the clear,
un-believably, they give offside!
We are now poor, with them running through the midfield. When we do get the
ball, they are hopeful punts up high to the 'massive' Davies and Miller, and the
defending wasn't much better. looking great going forward (practise the crossing
though) Woody defended like 15 year old making his first team appearance for his
school(PANIC), Harper, is not up to it, I'm starting to think the years have
finally caught up with Daly, and Adrian Browne tries but, well, you know?

With a few minutes to go, Daly is playing a more advanced role, and Deaner
replaces the tiring Barts.
First thing Deaner does, is miss an abolute sitter from a peach of of a Moleski
cross. Greatest clearing header of all time!!!!!
We then get a corner in the dying few minutes of the game, and Deaner, meant to
be flicking the ball on, makes a pathetic attempt, gets knocked gets beaten, the
ball is cleared, and on that break they get their second game over.
After the game, heard some twatish comments. Mainly, that it was Steve Daly's
fault?!   He should be stripped of the captaincy apparently? His heinous crime?
He was on the halfway line with his hands on his hips as Marlow got the second.
If Daly was 10 years younger he still would not have had the pace to get back.
He always gets pushed up the field when we are behind and chasing a agoal, if
the ball had of got pinged back, and he scored, you would all be saying, how
clever he was staying up there. There were covering defenders, (Browne and Woody
I think) who completely cocked it up. It was  the end of the game, he was
clearly knackered, and he was not the only one who didn't make it into the half
way line. He is an old fart, and it was the end of the game, he must have been
Knackered. Having played football as a defender myself, there is nothing worse
than going up for a corner at the end of the game, then watch a colleague cock
up the corner see the ball get hoofed up for a break, and see your covering
defenders panic and dither and let the opponents score, many I times I see that
happen, and I , have probably done the same, stopped dead, hands on hips , look
at the ground and think "for f's sake", Prob what Daly did.    You lot voted him
player of the year last season, but know slag him off(still at it on Monday)
saying he is poo! Every player makes mistakes, but he has been a great servant
of this club, and didn't deserve some of the comments made. Daly wasn't the
problem, the substitutions were!(Before you say it, I didn't vote for him!)
Since found out Daly is injured.................uuummmm wonder if THAT had
anything to do with it?!

MOM    Sir John MILLS :  Great game back after injury.

HON MEN  Clement James: a bit of class down the left.
Terry Davies: tireless, and deserved at least one goal

Right, lets get straight to it. What was the back three all about? The tall centre back playing more to the right of the three, a short full back in the middle and a third who is struggling so far. To be fair to Ian Duncan, he had a great game. Dean Harper made mistake after mistake and Steve Daly Isn't know for his pace. This told very early when an unnecessary fre kick was given away by Terry Davies (who really needs to shut up... and pass the ball while I'm talking about him) and a Thatcham player had all the time in the world to head home from the free kick. To be fair Slough got straight back into the game on the widest pitch I've ever seen and should have scored twice when Matt Miller and Clem James hit the bar together in the space of five seconds. Thatcham are a very hard working side, but not all that otherwise so to speak and again we didn't seem strong enough. Aaron france didn't seem too troubled, but we didn't cause Thatcham any real problem other than a couple of corners. Again long balls pumped into the box to our short players. On odd occasions Slough knocked it about well, but no final third. Before half time it was 2-0 in almost the same way. Two games, Four goals conceded. Two from piss poor marking, one dreadful backpass and an unnecessary tackle in the penalty box. We've made ordinary teams look good.

Other than two Thatcham chances gifted to them again, a half chance for us from a free kick and handbags, the second half was a non-event... especially poor old George who was out on the right always in space and with many Slough fans calling it, rarely got the ball.
I'm so disappointed with Nick Roddis, Christian Metcalfe didn't have a good one and with Clem James' running and Leon Woodruffe's effort down the left, they achieved absolutely nothing. The annoying thing is that we do have a core of a side, but whether it's an age/inexperiance/ another team thrown together that needs time/just still not good enough is all up for debate, but one thing is for sure that many fans may not have thought before Saturday is that it's going to be another long season. I wanted a mid table finish so things can actually settle and rebuild properly next summer. It'll be a big achievement if that happens. I so hope I'm wrong.

Team:
1. Aaron France; 2. Steve Daly, 3. Iain Duncan, 4. Dean Harper; 5. Leon Woodruffe, 6. George Moleski, 7. Terry Davies, 8. Christian Metcalfe, 9. Nick Roddis; 10. Clem James, 11. Matt Miller; Sub: 12. Andy Deaner.

Man Of The Match: Iain Duncan for his hard work and I don't think he lost a header/challenge.
Hon. Mentions: George Moleski for attitude, hard work despite being isolated a lot of the time. The second goes to the 20 minutes Andy Deaner gave us. He may not grace us with the skills of Ronaldinho or Zidane, but he'll get stuck in and at least win a header.

For an hour I didn't think we really deserved anything. At the end I was gutted.
On paper I was quite confident that for once, and not including any result that came out of this game, we could give the opposition a game. Something any one of us hadn't seen since Staines away early last season. Slough didn't really create anything in the first half and it was the same old story of pinging long balls to short forwards. Taunton were an ok side, but the big difference between the two sides was Taunton's strength. They made sure they were first to the ball and never let us settle. It didn't help much when Steve Daly clumsily gave away an early penalty. Though credit must be due to the team here. Most of last season when we went a goal down things just simply fell apart, here they battled on.

For about the first 15 minute of the second half Slough were on top, but still the lack of creativity was evident and only a Clem James volley was all the was to show for their efforts. After this period of play Slough seemed stop a little, thankfully Taunton didn't take advantage and out of nowhere a poor defensive pass was seized on by Terry Davies who lashed in a quality first time shot their keeper had no chance with. From here this was the best we'd seen a Slough side play for a long while. Davies and Miller had shots well saved and for once we forced several corners and we were the only ones looking like winners.
Then in injury time Dean Harper poorly passed back to Aaron France. Last seasons gifting the opposition a goal is still in our system.

As a whole a draw was a fair result...but it could have been so different.

Team:

1. Aaron France; 2. Iain Duncan 3. Clem James   4. Steve Daly 5. Dean Harper 6. Christian Metcalfe 7. George Moleski 8. Nick Roddis; 9.Matt Miller 10. Terry Davies 11. Glen Faircluth
Sub: 12. Mark Bartley

Man Of The Match: Christian Metcalfe. His experience head could be invaluable this season.
Honourable Mentions: Iain Duncan for the ground he covered and Terry Davies for being a pain in the butt to the opposition and a very well taken goal.
